An Acoustic Journey Without Perfection
In 2020, fresh from our first journey into the vast NT desert, I sat down to capture something raw—a few stories that were still unfamiliar to me. The lyrics hadn't fully revealed themselves, and I didn’t know where they would lead. One early morning, while my loved ones slept down the hall, I quietly recorded in my living room. With only a finger-strummed parlor guitar gently supporting the lyrics, what came out was spontaneous and unfiltered. That's how "No Filter" came to be.
Sometimes, people compliment me on my singing. Often, it's another aspiring singer saying something like, "I can't sing—I suck—you have to be born with it." Honestly, I understand that insecurity. I’ve had moments where I didn’t like what I was hearing either, only for someone else to tell me they loved it. Over time, I’ve stopped weighing those opinions. For me, there’s a message that needs to be heard, and music is the best way to reach each other.
If you want to sing, you have to go for it. You have to show up for it, day after day, even when it doesn’t feel perfect. Years can pass, and you still might not "nail it." But that doesn’t seem to matter. It’s about believing in yourself and your message.
This EP reflects a moment in time: waking up, embracing imperfection, and letting creativity flow naturally. These early versions were shaped by the road—our first attempt at the Infinity Loop, halted by the pandemic, and the adventures that followed. Over time, through countless loops, the stories have evolved, gaining depth and perspective. Now, they stand ready to be fully realised on our upcoming album, Heart's Parade, arriving in Australia on July 10, 2025.
The songs here, from the meditative "Into the River" to the cathartic "Outta Control," capture the beauty of raw, unpolished storytelling. It’s like waking up next to your lover—no makeup on, morning breath—and finding something divine in the moment.
